Acquisition spend tied to signups and revenue.
A browser-based subscription platform that lets forex, futures and crypto traders replay historical markets candle by candle to backtest strategies. It is popular with retail traders preparing for prop firm challenges and sells to a global audience. The company was scaling fast on a large and growing acquisition budget.
The company was spending heavily on acquisition with no dashboard connecting that spend to signups, trials and revenue. Budget could not be moved between channels with any confidence.
The product team had little visibility into what traders did inside the app. They could not see who reached a first backtest or which behaviours led to a paid plan.
Marketing data stack
We set up the marketing data stack, pulling ad platform spend, signups, trial starts and subscription revenue into one place. Sources were matched on shared identifiers so each paying customer traces back to a channel.
Acquisition dashboard
We built a dashboard showing spend, signups, trial conversion and revenue by channel. Cost per acquisition is visible at a glance and updates without manual work.
Amplitude product tracking
We designed an event plan for the core trading and backtesting actions and implemented it in Amplitude. Events carry properties such as instrument and session type, so behaviour can be broken down in detail.
Onboarding funnels
We built funnels from sign-up through onboarding to the first completed backtest. The team can see exactly where new users drop off.
Retention cohorts
We set up retention cohorts and identified the in-app behaviours that correlate with becoming a paying customer. Those behaviours now shape onboarding and product priorities.
- The dashboard supported the acquisition push that took the company to a major recurring revenue milestone.
- Cost per acquisition is visible by channel, so budget goes where it performs.
- The product team understands how traders use the platform.
- Roadmap decisions are based on usage data.

We designed a global analytics schema for Royal Canin, migrated a very large multi-market site to GA4 and piped the raw data to its Azure and Databricks teams.
